Zetra first came to our attention when we attended Ville Valo's show last May at The Royal Albert Hall when they supported him on the final show of his VV project. We were so impressed we jumped at the chance to head down to their more intimate show at The Asylum 2 in Birmingham.

With support from Moth Slut, Zetra performed a spellbinding set, only for an hour sadly but the fans didn't seem to mind, many screaming in a way you would see at a pop show when their favourite songs were performed. Having said that, the audience was a mixed bag of ages of young and older goths.

Looking at their stage set-up, which featured a portal to another world, and their corpse paint image, one would be quick to assume that Zetra's sound would be closer to black metal, in my opinion, if you are a fan of both The Cure and Ghost, this is the band for you as they mix the gloomy, the macabre and synth.

Zetra's live performances are characterized by their mysterious persona and minimal crowd interaction, allowing their music and stage presence to communicate powerfully. As they continue to refine their live shows, Zetra is poised to become a significant force in the alternative music scene.
