A lot has happened in the last few hours with the band Ghost, and as Lost In The Pit's resident unhinged Ghost fan here is a recap of what's gone down...
Over the last week, the band's Youtube channel streamed a billboard in Las Vegas with the phrase 'V is Coming'. In a similar fashion to the Vatican's announcement of a new Pope, the billboard eventually emitted purple smoke...a new Papa is here.
In the early hours of this morning, on the day the new comic book series telling the back story of Sister Imperator debuts, fans were treated to a brand new 'Chapter' (the bands webisode series), where we once again see Frater Imperator and his Ghostly parents attempt to open the door to reveal Papa V. They eventually give up on the door reveal and "head straight to video". At 5 am Uk time, the new music video for 'Satanized' dropped - with all of us too focused on the reveal of Papa V Perpetua at the end of the video, most of us only noticed a familiar face in one of the priests, none other than the bands leader Tobias Forge, hidden somewhat by prosthetics.
As I said, the big reveal came at the end of the video, Papa V is there in all his glory, donning a new chrome "half mask", a first for the frontman. Many fans are excited by this change as Tobias himself has said the other masks made it like "wearing flip flops to a soccer game" and has hinted at this change coming in hopes of better live vocals. We also see the new get up for The Nameless Ghouls, in a stunning skeleton/bat/nun hybrid get up.

Speaking of skeletons, the band finally announced their sixth full length studio album 'Skeletá', a ten song piece which if 'Satanized' is anything to go off, will be a nod to the older heavier sound (and the return of the Latin lyrics!).
Next month, the band will head out on their biggest world tour yet, once known as the [Redacted] Tour, which is now named the 'Skele-Tour' (yes, like He-Man). The UK shows are mostly sold out with a few tickets popping up here and there. Those lucky enough to have tickets to Black Sabbath's Back To The Beginning will also get a chance to see the new Papa. As a fan, I'm very excited for this new era and what the whole cycle will bring.
Ghost kick off their tour on the 15th April in Manchester.
'Skeletá' to be released on 25th April via Loma Vista Recordings. [See track list below music video if you are happy with spoilers!]
