Another night at Dead Wax in Digbeth. Tonight's show is a sell out for Scunthorpe band Skarlett Riot. While they may not be headlining the likes of the O2 arena, they have a dedicated fan base, young and old, front and center, some having been following the tour for the past week around the country.
Opening tonight were Yikes and In Search Of Sun, both bands full of energy and laughs, the perfect match to warm up the crowd.
Time for the main event, Skarlett Riot open with their latest single 'Chemicals', following up with a 15 song set, mixing from albums 'Invicta', 'Tear Me Down' and 'Regenerate'.
The stage presence and energy of Skarlett Riot were contagious. Frontwoman Chloe was a force of nature, interacting with the crowd, including a round of high fives, making them feel like they were part of the show. Her dynamic stage presence was matched by the rest of the band, creating an unforgettable experience.
Whilst this may be a club show, there is no lack of stage tricks, as confetti canons were burst over the crowd, giving that larger show experience in this 400 capacity venue. All in all the show was a sheer delight, and a band I will 100% be checking out again when they are in town.
