FROM INSIDE - Dead Wax Digbeth - 5th May 2023

Deep in the trendy and up and coming part of Digbeth, Birmingham, Dead Wax holds a cosy little venue, tonights headliner would be Liverpudlians From Inside. Warming up the evening were local acts, We Could Have Been Astronauts, a female fronted throwback to mid-2000's emo bops, and self descriped 'Kinkcore' band TRY2SMILE.

By the time From Inside took to the stage, the show had completely sold out, and the room was filled. The band's dynamic blend of hard rock and pop rock had the audience fist bumping and singing along from the very first song, 'The Right One'.

For a small and upcoming band, they defiantly have a hard-core following as the band joked about an audience member being able to sing along to a freshly released song word for word. Also from the audience reaction, you would not believe that this was new frontman, Zaid Elgahmi's first headline tour with the band (which the band joked there was a "Jeremy Kyle" situation with the old singer). Zaid defiantly had a way of conducting the crowd, hands were in the air at his command, and even got the whole room side stepping at one point. "I could shout anything and you would cheer...Gregs Sausage Rolls!".

The energy and passion of From Inside's performance were infectious, and it was clear that the band members were having just as much fun as their fans.

Concluding the set was the band's highest streaming single, 'Only You'. Overall, a great performance for anyone whose into the pop punk scene, this band is sure to continue making waves in the alternative rock scene for years to come.
